Lateefah Wielenga, Ph.D
Dr. Lateefah Wielenga is in private practice, servicing families, couples, women, men and adolescents. Although she has provided psychotherapy for the aforementioned groups, her emphases is on treating couples and individual women and men.
With her sensitive, straight-forward approach, Dr. Wielenga has been extremely successful helping couples with effective, authentic communication, and learning how to bring the love back into their relationships. The primary therapeutic modalities she utilizes are Narrative, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and she’s had a 100% success rate working with women, men and couples.
Dr. Wielenga began her career as a journalist, working in productions at CBS and Lorimar-Telepictures. She transitioned that experience to South Carolina and taught drama and storytelling, which lead to the creation of her first group for women suffering from a low sense of self-worth. After a huge success with the women in the group, she decided to return to Southern, CA to pursue a career in psychology, as Dr. Wielenga knew she had the innate ability to help couples to effectively communicate, and to help men and women feel better about the decisions they make, and who they are.
Dr. Wielenga is also a Couples Coach and she has a women’s therapeutic process group called Her Voice.
